About Me

Hello, my name is Rebecca Wiles. And now for a little bit about myself..... Well I guess by now it is evident that I love to write poetry. I have been doing so since I was 14 years of age, which has been quite awhile back. It has always been an outlet for me, for I tend to initally hold all my feelings back. I am partial though to writing poems about the mysterious nature of God,  star poetry, nature poetry, and political poetry for it is something I feel so passionatly about. Of course I write all kinds however. I hope you enjoy them as you browse this space.

Now a little more about me, well I have two wonderful sons and one wonderful stepson. Johannes, my eldest son (who lives in Spain now with his father) he is 15 years old on September 22. How time flies.... I remember when he was just a little one.... Actually I remember further back than that. Then I have Ray who turned 4 last March 24th. Then my stepson Brandon who is all grown up, who is only several years younger than me. He lives in North Carolina. I have two  dogs, and two cats, and I can't forget about my  patient husband. We live here in the panhandle of Florida. Whew! Barely made it through that last hurricane Dennis too! Well drop me a line and tell me what you think about my site!

Well here is a little more about me, just in case you want to know!

My favorite color is:  Purple, Violet, Lavender, and anything in between.

My favorite singers and groups are: Billy Joel, Jim Croce (here is a website devoted to his legacy. And what a great legacy it is. No better singer in my book. http://www.netporch.com/jcroce/index2htm  ) Rod Stewert, The Eagles (I really love their songs),Little River Band, I guess you can also tell what style of music I like too. I grew up around country but don't really have any kind of love for it. I wasn't allowed the light rock style of music. Oh well, now I can!!!

My favorite past time is: well more than one.... writing poetry and in my dream journal (everyone should have one!), Gardening, my miniature Rose Bush is doing great, along with my Dwarf Azaela , working on my website, reading, playing with my son and going for walks (especially at night under the stars), Stargazing..... and pondering on the mysteries of life...... bird watching, drinking hot tea (especially Earl Grey and a flavor by Celestial Seasonings called Constant Comment and of course Chamomile and green tea and many others...), I also like those international coffees by General Foods. My favorite flavors are: Suisse Mocha (which is my all time favorite) and Cafe Vienna, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut Belgian, plus most cappucinos too! I love and have an affinity for wolves. I collect any and all wolf things. I also collect tin cans with old fashioned scenes on them...... I love Irish songs (when I was a teenager I went through a phase where I collected anything Irish) I also went through a phase where I collected anything with a Scottish Terrier on it. I love, absolutely love and am the highest fan of The New England Patriots. Yes, I LOVE to watch FOOTBALL. I also love to sing, especially songs of the Eagles and Jim Croce..... Like today! I love the song Sweet City Woman, by The Stampeders (someday I want to get that on tape or cd) I love Leb-Kuchen (a German Christmas Ginger bread Cake type of thing) I also love camping, especially out in the desert under the stars. Although I don't get out much in the desert here in Florida!!! Reminds me of when I lived in Arizona.... Those were the days..... And I am a sucker for historical romances, incense, pot pouri and meditating, watching Sponge Bob ..... I think I got most things now....  If not I will add them later.....

My favorite poets are: Sarah Cleghorn, Sara Teasdale, Robert Frost (who was a life long friend of Sarah Cleghorn; them both being Vermonters and all), Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barret Browning (if you have never read their letters to each other, you are missing out!) There are many others I like, but these being the main ones. I have also discovered Viggo Mortensen's poetry. Yep, the actor, he writes poetry, sings, paints and he likes photography. He is good in all of those areas.

I was born in 1968, on November 5th, in Opp, Alabama. But my parents lived in the panhadle of Florida. So for about a year and a half after birth I lived there. Then we moved to Topeka, Kansas (where I mostly grew up, at least until about 12 years old) Then we did move to Arizona, Louisiana (I really hated that), and back to Kansas, where I graduated from high school. Then after I married my now ex husband (won't bore you with all the details) we moved to Germany for a time. Also got to visit Bolivia for two months...... Well that is a short condensed version of my life, but to say all the in betweens would be to bore you...... Now as I had said in the about me area.... I live back in the panhandle of Florida on 8 acres from my dad's family (he gave me) in a spot on the map by the Alabama border.

I also got two dogs and two cats. Shasta, who is Blue Heeler (Austrailian Cattle Dog) and Bucky (actually it's Buck but we call him Bucky) who is Shasta's son, and quite the spoiled one. He is part Blue Heeler and Chow. A pretty mix indeed with his golden red coat and Chow/ bear like face but looks Blue Heeler other than that. Not as much fur as a Chow. Then I got an outside cat named Star(she is pure white...she is missing since a few months back now! Sometime in March of this year 2006)  and inside cat named Cleo (who is 17 years old and a Calico). Well not much else to tell..... Just waiting for the next BIG storm (Hurricane) to blow in and carry us away...... We keep getting them this way. Use to be you just got those mainly down south Florida but now we get more of them here in the Gulf Coast area. My nationality..... well I've heard it said Heinz variety (mutt) anyway, on my dad's side I am Cherokee/Welsh/jewish/Scottish/English and my mom's side I am English, Irish, Scottish, maybe Dutch and definitely German(Jew) and French Canadian. As a matter of fact my aunt (who is looking things up here and there about genology all the time found this site by accident where are family (even me personally) were mentioned as being related to this German family that came here in the 1700s. Here it is  http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jcrislip/CCC/aqwg86.htm#12859c    and if for some reason you believe to be related to them, you can write an email and they will add you. If you want to see me there, just look for  Rebecca Lynn Thomas (as that is my maiden name) and you will see it. This is on my mom's mom (in other words my grandma) side. Also my grandma is related to the famous McCoy's who had that feud in West Virginia/Kentucky. My grandma grew up in West Virginia.

Well this is my second (but for now only) website. The other one use to be an MSN community one. I like this better. One day I am hoping to actually get a domain all to myself. But will first have to learn HTML and all that..... Hope you enjoy yourself here and when or if I have something to say I may make a journal page..... Sort of like my thoughts page......
And I have joined a wonderful new site called Care2. You can meet people like-minded and at the same time help the environment. It is a wonderful site. Here is my profile on there: http://my.care2.com/starcrystal You can join it!! It is great!!
